The Blackwell
The Blackwell Hotel is The Ohio State University’s hotel and it is located on the North side of campus amongst the classroom buildings of the OSU Fisher College of Business, allowing a view of the football stadium from many of the rooms. Constructed in 2002 with revolving renovations to keep things new, this hotel is the only one on our list to offer ground transportation to and from the Columbus International Airport. The hotel is just a short 7 minute drive from where our wedding will be held. The Blackwell hotel is also the hotel Sarah and I will be staying in on the night of our wedding!
Hampton Inn & Suites
The Hampton Inn & Suites is located a little further North on Olentangy River Road, overlooking the very popular Olentangy River. One of the main thoroughfares of the Columbus bike trail system runs along the river, on the opposite side from the hotel, but there is a short path leading from the hotel to the Olentangy bike path (for those of you that would like to enjoy the weather and can bring your bikes with you!). The bike path even leads you right through the heart of the OSU campus if you feel daring and would like to ride your bike to the wedding! Constructed in 2014, the Hampton Hotel does offer a shuttle service to and from the wedding location though for those of you who would like a few adult fun drinks and the shuttle ride is just a short 12 minutes.
SpringHill Suites Marriott
The SpringHill Suites Marriott is located near the West side of The Ohio State University campus and is right on the edge of one of the most popular parts of Columbus, a town known as Grandview. Grandview is home to some of the cities wealthiest, but it is also home to many of those considered to be among the millennial generation, meaning many great restaurants and small trendy shops (The Oilerie, Stauf’s Coffee (Sarah’s favorite coffee shop!), Spagio’s, Local Cantina, and the Mercantile) can be found just a short drive away along Grandview Avenue. Built in 2011, the SpringHill Suites does offer shuttle service to and from the wedding location and the drive is only 11 minutes away.
Hilton Garden Inn
The Hilton Garden Inn is located on the same street and right next to the Hampton Inn & Suites mentioned early, so for those of you who want to be close, but not too close to the other wedding guests, this one may be just the right choice for you! Being so close to the Hampton hotel, means that the Hilton Garden Inn is also close to the bike trail (Which I….John….by the way, love the bike trail), so consider bringing your bike as well if you book a room in the Hilton! For you golf fans, the Jack Nicklaus Museum is also just a short drive away on the same street as your hotel! Built in 2007, the Hilton Garden Inn will round out our list as it also offers round trip shuttle service to and from our wedding location at the OSU Faculty Club.
